About this Seminar
This seminar introduces Receptive Vocabulary Computerized Adaptive Test (RevCAT), a newly developed test for assessing receptive vocabulary. Its development has been supported by the Knowledge Transfer Project Fund (KPF) of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and the Speech and Hearing Social Enterprise (SHSE). The seminar will present the background and development of the platform, followed by a live demonstration. Eligible participants will also receive complimentary trial access to RevCAT (details provided below).
About Receptive Vocabulary Computerized Adaptive Test (RevCAT)
RevCAT is the first computerized adaptive test designed to assess receptive vocabulary in Cantonese-speaking children aged 2 years 6 months to 6 years 5 months. Developed through rigorous research, RevCAT has undergone validation to confirm its strong psychometric properties. The platform is designed to be user-friendly and employs adaptive technology that selects test items according to each child’s ability, thereby reducing testing time while maintaining accuracy. On average, the test can be completed in about 10 minutes. RevCAT provides speech therapists with an efficient and precise tool for the early identification of receptive vocabulary difficulties, enabling timely support and intervention.
FREE Trial Access for Speech Therapy Professionals and Trainees
Registrants who are qualified speech therapists or currently in speech therapy training will be provided with a RevCAT account following the webinar. Each account will be active until 15 December 2025. During times of high demand, users may occasionally experience slower performance or brief disruptions when accessing the platform. Please be advised that access to the platform may be suspended or discontinued under unavoidable circumstances, such as essential maintenance or periods of high demand.
Following this trial period, the platform's future development may include the introduction of new features, a transition to a subscription-based model, or other significant modifications. These changes will be guided in part by the valuable feedback we receive from our users. We strongly encourage all registrants to share their comments and suggestions with us, as your input is instrumental in shaping the platform's future direction.
